The Girls Up Front workshop series is designed to promote positive female role models for young people. The aim is to cover a broad spectrum of women, from past and present, looking at their careers, achievements, and legacy.

The Workshop

Girls Up Front aims to explore women from a variety of background, countries, and circumstances to show young people that women have the ability to achieve. An alarming statistic states that women are outnumbered 24:1 in education, meaning for every one woman that a student learns about in school they also learn about 24 men.  So, where do we get our female role models?

The workshop series follows the stories and achievements of several different women, providing students with excellent role models in careers stereotypically male-dominated today from a time when very few women were working in these professions at all.

By using discussion, art and drama the students not only develop their knowledge and understanding of these incredible women but also have the opportunity to develop their presentation skills, vocal ability, creativity, and passion.

The workshops are available in a variety of packages:

  • Women in STEM

  • History in Action

  • Battling Diversity

This is an extended project that can be delivered in a number of different ways. The series comes in 6 parts (though this can be tailored to your specific needs). Whether the sessions all take place in one day or over the course of a few weeks is up to you. Please contact us for further details.
